Pinned and Tried: All Natural Hair Mask For Split Ends
My hair has been dry, frizzy and just plain dull for the past couple of weeks. I can only blame myself, however, for not having it cut in ions. I’m notorious for this…I get a good trim once a year and wait until it becomes basically too long and straggly to manage. In an effort to put some life back into my strands, I tried this DIY all natural hair mask for split ends I found on Pinterest.
It involves mixing 1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar, 1 tbsp of coconut oil and 2 tbsp of honey together to create a combo that smells absolutely rank!!! I seriously gagged while applying it to my hair, but once it was slathered on and tied and away from my face it was barely noticeable. As suggested, I left it in for 30 minutes before rinsing away with shampoo and conditioner.
Now, I’m thinking conditioner was a mistake because my hair was incredibly greasy after. I actually ended up having to wash it twice. I also have super fine hair, so perhaps I applied too much of the mask.
After the second wash, however, my hair was super shiny and felt very soft!! I actually do think I noticed a small difference in the appearance of my split ends as well.
It of course doesn’t make up for the fact that I desperately need a haircut, but I did enjoy how my hair looked and felt after. I will definitely use this mask again, but probably with a nose clip to prevent my stomach from turning.
