European Adventures: Paris

June 20, 2017

After returning from our European adventure a week ago, I couldn’t wait to write this post!! Not only to share photos with family, friends and anyone who may be remotely interested, but also to reflect on experiences and memories.

Technically it was a 12-night trip, as Dev and I spent four nights in each Paris, Barcelona and Lisbon. I’ve got too many photos and stories for just one post so I thought I would break up each location into a series. Today’s destination: Paris!

I’ve actually been to Paris once before…with my Dad. It didn’t exactly have the romantic flare the city is known for and I wasn’t overly impressed. In fact I didn’t think I would ever return, but an invite arrived in the mail for my cousin’s wedding and it seemed like a wonderful opportunity to spend some time with family that I don’t get to see very often (my Aunt, Uncle and five cousins live in Vancouver) and explore some new destinations while across the pond – this time with my beau. I have to say…Paris has grown on me!

This first leg of our trip felt extremely busy. We spent one full day at the Palace of Versailles, another at the Louvre, and another walking the Champs-Élysées to see the Arc de Triomphe; but the highlight for me was watching the magical moment of my cousin and her fiancé become husband and wife in a beautiful park at the bottom of the Eiffel Tower. She looked stunning in her blush pink dress and he, very handsome in his black suit. There was just something so special about the wedding and I love how it attracted guests from all over the world (even Japan) to celebrate.

I won’t blab on too much, though, and instead will let you enjoy some photos.
