December Bucket List – 10 Things To Do This Month

December 5, 2017

Despite the cold weather, December is probably my favourite month of the year!! I’m obsessed with everything Christmas-y and I can’t wait to indulge in all the festive activities this jolly twelfth month has to offer! Check out my list of 10 things I hope to do before we ring in 2018. Holy cow that sounds crazy! Where has the year gone?!

 1. Bake lots and lots of cookies

I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to everything Christmas and the number of cookie recipes is getting a bit out of control. I am hoping to get together with a girlfriend one night for a big bake-off and freeze batches of sweets to give as hostess gifts.

2. Go to the Toronto Christmas Market

I’ve only ever been once and all of the shops/vendors were closed, so I am determined to go back and experience all that the Toronto Christmas Market has to offer.

3. Try all the Starbucks holiday classics

Peppermint Mocha, Chestnut Praline Latte, Caramel Brûlée Latte…I want to try them all!

4. Go see Star Wars: The Last Jedi in VIP

Winter is the best time to go see a movie because it’s bloody cold outside and there’s not much else to do. Luckily, the next Star Wars film will be playing on December 15 and I hope to go see it in VIP, because who wouldn’t want to sip on a glass of wine while watching Luke, Leia and Rey unlock mysteries of the Force?

5. Decorate a Gingerbread House

It’s such a cute and inexpensive date night idea. No?

6. Make Homemade Eggnog

I don’t actually know how eggnog is made, and although I’m not entirely sure I want to know what it is made of, I am determined to make my own batch! And maybe create my own #HealthyBirdy version?!

7. Build a snowman

Because you’re never to old to play in the snow…

Cross your fingers we get some snow in the GTA this month!

8. Have a Christmas movie marathon

Elf, The Grinch, Home Alone, A Christmas Story, Love Actually, The Santa Claus, The Polar Express, Arthur Christmas, White Christmas, Christmas with the Kranks, Four Christmases, Fred Claus…I may have already watched most of these (some multiple times) but you can bet I’ll be watching them all before the end of December!

9. Watch The Man Who Invented Christmas

I’ve heard great things about the movie based on Charles Dickens and the journey that led him to create A Christmas Carol.

10. Admire the Niagara Falls Winter Festival Of Lights

Walking hand in hand along an 8km trail of brilliant light fixtures sounds super romantic and beautiful. Wouldn’t you agree? Plus it’s FREE!!

What are some activities you hope to do this month?
