August 2018 Beauty & Lifestyle Favourites

September 14, 2018

I realize we’re nearly halfway through September already, but it’s never too late to post about some favourites is it? Here are all the beauty and lifestyle things I loved last month.

MAC Impassioned Lipstick

MAC Impassioned Lipstick

With summer coming to an end, I made sure to take advantage of every opportunity to wear a vibrant lippie. My favourite sunny and warm weather colour is a vibrant coral from MAC called Impassioned. It’s the perfect mixture of red, orange and pink that seems to make me appear tan, even when I’m not. With an “Amplified” finish, it really packs a punch and goes on opaque with one swipe. It’s also hydrating and doesn’t flake or get chunky like many matte lipsticks do.

LUSH Sleepy Body Lotion

This should come as no surprise. I’m absolutely head over heels for this lavender lotion. The smell is divine and I legit think it helps me sleep at night. If you missed my complete review of the product, be sure to check it out (here).

Coffee-mate Natural Bliss Vanilla Almond Milk Coffee Creamer

At first I wasn’t the biggest fan of this coffee creamer. It’s pretty (OK, a lot) sweet! But the sugar addiction I’m constantly battling made my taste buds quickly adapt and the second time I tried it, I was hooked! I’d like to believe it’s healthier because it’s made with real almond milk, but the truth is it’s probably not. It says it’s only 30 calories per tablespoon (haha…only) and is sweetened with natural cane sugar. I always question how something that tastes THIS GOOD can be healthy. But if I’m honest, I don’t even care because it makes coffee taste amazing!! It has also replaced the usual sweeteners like raw sugar or honey that I would normally add to my morning cuppa joe.

Imposters on Netflix

I began watching this show on a whim one evening. I hadn’t heard much about it, but I liked the trailers I had seen and the description I had read. The story follows a con artist who woos people into a relationship, marries them and then takes them for all they’re worth. She leaves them broke and heartbroken, not to mention confused. It’s a comedic drama with bits of humour here and there that I really appreciate. Episode one caught my attention right away and I couldn’t wait to watch more. But for some reason I thought there were three seasons, so you can imagine my disappointment when I reached the end of season one, only to realize that was it. There is no more.

So that was short a sweet. I know there aren’t too many products to rave about this time around, but I couldn’t imagine missing a monthly favourites post! I can promise you, however, that September’s favourites post will be a goodie. I’ve been playing with a bunch of new products the last couple of weeks and I can already tell they’re going to be well used this month.
