January 2019 Beauty & Lifestyle Favourites

January 30, 2019

January has felt like a gazillion years! Do you agree? It’s hard to believe Christmas was just a little over a month ago. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this first month of the year though! It has been busy. But not too busy. And I’m not feeling the winter blues just yet. I also have some awesome new discoveries to share with you! Continue reading if you’re interested.

LUSH Sleepy Shower Gel

I thought I would stop obsessively sharing my love for the LUSH Sleepy Body Lotion and instead focus on it’s beautiful sister…the LUSH Sleepy Shower Gel. YOU GUYS!!! My adoration for this lavender and tonka scent continues and intensifies!

LUSH Sleepy Shower Gel

This shower gel not only has the same fragrance of my beloved night-time lotion. It also makes pretty awesome bubbles when used in the bath! A little goes a surprisingly long way and I enjoy using it most in the evening when I’m winding down and getting ready for bed.

Rimmel Stay Glossy Gloss in Endless Night

I’m almost positive this product is not available anymore. And I can understand why because my tube is SERIOUSLY old! Check out that grimy packaging. It goes against all the rules I set out about following expiring dates. I’m pretty sure it’s at least seven years old…

I know…DISGUSTING! But I just can’t seem to part ways with this gloss. The formula is by far my favourite to have ever coat my lips. It’s silky smooth, not sticky, and has superb staying power. It makes my lips feel hydrated and soft, while supplying a beautiful wash of colour with subtle golden shimmer.

If you’ve seen these in store, please let me know. If they still exist, I will definitely be purging this one and buying the entire collection as a replacement.

Arbonne Energy Fizz Sticks

These little Chrystal Light looking packets are actually magic! They’re a substitute for caffeine but they are low in calories, feature natural flavours and have been created without artificial colours.

One serving stirred into a cup of water creates a delicious and slightly carbonated beverage that mimics a glass of pop. Only it’s much healthier and has many benefits. The main features are that it reduces fatigue, promotes alertness and increases endurance. I’ve been using them like a pre-workout and notice a difference in my energy levels. The fizz can be a little strange at first, but I personally really like it. The pomegranate flavour is my favourite.

Mealime App

This app has made me more enthusiastic when it comes to meal planning and cooking at home. It features a bunch of different recipes that each take roughly 30 minutes to make. They can be selected and added to a menu, which acts as a guideline for the week. Once these meals have been chosen, the app creates an easy-to-use grocery list with checkboxes. For example, if I already have an ingredient at home, I just tap the checkbox next to it and it disappears from my grocery list. When I’m ready to do groceries, my list is created and conveniently stored in my phone so shopping can be quick and easy.

Mealine App

I don’t use the app seven days of the week every week, but it helps generate ideas when I feel uninspired. I’ve also yet to find a recipe I didn’t like. I would highly recommend the Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings, any of the Frittatas, and the Chicken and Green Bean Casserole with Mushrooms and Thyme.

In addition, it helps keep our grocery bill down. I’m only ever buying exactly what we need and nothing goes to waste.

Thanks for reading today’s post. I hope you have a fantastic end to January and a brilliant start to February. And to all of my fellow Canadians – STAY WARM!
