April 2019 Beauty & Lifestyle Favourites

May 7, 2019

Well guys, I’m afraid I don’t have too many April favourites to share with you. There are a few beauty bits and a couple lifestyle favourites…one pretty random one in particular. But I hope you enjoy and I would love to hear about any products you’re currently loving. Be sure to leave a comment below.

April 2019 Beauty & Lifestyle Favourites - Pai, PIXI, Wet N Wild, Crispy Mini

Pixi Glow Tonic

I received a sample of the Pixi Glow Tonic when I placed an order on www.beauty.shoppersdrugmart.ca a little while ago. The tiny bottle has gone a surprisingly long way and it contained just enough product for me to truly test it out and decide whether or not I like it. I used it the entire month of April, and well…I’m obsessed! Although it really only took a couple of tries before I noticed a difference, I don’t think my skin has ever been better.

April 2019 Beauty Favourite - PIXI Glow Tonic

It’s an exfoliating acid toner with 5% Glycolic Acid for a boost of hydration. The first time I used it, it make my skin tingle, but I became accustomed to the slight tickle after continued use. It removes dead and dull skin cells to reveal a brighter and more even complexion. It has not made my skin dry out, but I typically only use it at night and go in with a thick overnight mask afterwards for even more moisture.

I’m sad this little sample is gone and I’ll very likely be purchasing a full size bottle in the near future.

Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil

The skincare obsession continues…

I’ll be honest, I started using the Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil again because Katie Jane Hughes uses it. If you don’t know who Katie Jane Hughes is – and you’re a beauty junkie like me – you’re missing out! She has mad makeup skills and the most amazing skin. I’m addicted to watching her Instagram stories every day to see what tips and tricks she’ll be teaching.

April 2019 Beauty Favourite - Pai Rosehip Oil

I saw her use this rosehip oil once as a bit of a bronzy base. You can see it has an orange colour and it definitely translates ever so slightly onto the skin, giving it a subtle hint of colour and some added warmth. The benefits of using this oil are also incredible and I credit it as well for why my skin has been so great lately. It’s incredibly hydrating and improves the look of dark spots. The earthy/nutty scent is still not my favourite, but I’m starting to get used to it.

Wet N Wild Mega Last Lip Colour in Purity Persimmon

When the weather starts to warm up I can’t help but bust out ALLLLL the bright colour lipsticks. I particularly enjoy oranges and this one is a great one! The colour is the most perfect orangey-red and it’s a matte formula. The formula is actually quite stiff and can tug at the lips on application, but once the pigment is on, it does not budge! I can wear this colour practically all day long without needing to touch it up.

Quaker Crispy Minis Original Large Rice Cakes

This may seem like a random favourite to include, but I can’t stop eating plain rice cakes!! I love them with peanut butter and fruit on top, but lately I’ve been experimenting with different topping options and I’m thrilled with how diverse these little ‘pieces of cardboard’ can be. My favourite at the moment is egg salad!! The plain rice cakes act as a very low calorie piece of bread and the savoury mixture on top seems to bring out the saltiness in the cake. I also love the crunch! Mmmmmmm. Delicious.

MyFitnessPal

I’ve gone back and forth with MyFitnessPal and tracking calories for a few years now, but I’ve used it more consistently and for the longest period these last couple of months. It has definitely opened my mind to how quickly meals can add up.

Don't Underestimate The Power Of Plain Rice Cakes!

I’ve really enjoyed inputting the food I eat every day in the app and seeing not only how many calories I’m consuming, but also a breakdown of the macros. I used to have a VERY high carb diet, and in all honesty, I didn’t feel well a lot of the time. Since beginning to use this app again, and focusing on eating a better balanced diet, I’ve felt amazing! I’m sleeping better at night. I don’t have as many tummy troubles. My pants fit (hallelujah!!!), and I don’t seem to get as many headaches as I used to. It’s really been an eye opener and I’ll probably continue using this app for a long, long while!

What apps are you loving at the moment?
