We may not be able to go to a spa right now, but that doesn’t mean we can’t bring the spa home.
You guys know I’ve been trying to choose more clean products. So when I was introduced to MIFA and Co. with the opportunity to trial one of their products, I was intrigued by the fact that they choose organic and plant-based ingredients rather than synthetics and fillers. The Eucalyptus Coco Body Wash sounded delightful by description, and I was not disappointed when it arrived on my doorstep. It smells like a spa!
MIFA and Co’s products are formulated with botanical oils and tropical plant butters to help moisturize the skin. They are also strategically created using essential oils to encourage deeper breathing and relaxation. The body wash in particular contains notes of eucalyptus, lavender, peppermint, and geranium. It’s the perfect balance of herbal, floral, minty, and sweet. If you close your eyes tight enough while using it, you can trick yourself into thinking you’re at a Hammam Spa.
(I’ve never actually been to a Hammam Spa…but I imagine this is what it would smell like…and I would very much appreciate a trip to one at this very moment.)
The eucalyptus helps to boost mental clarity and contains healing properties that stimulate the immune system. I actually notice feeling ‘uplifted’ and instantly feel calm when I use it in the shower. It’s also formulated with cocoa butter, which is rich in essential fatty acids and known for improving skin’s elasticity, as well as aloe vera, which is known to be very healing. Both cocoa butter and aloe vera also help the skin feel soft, not stripped.
The formula itself is unlike anything I have tried before. A little goes a long way. Dev says three pumps are all he needs (yes, he uses it too), but I prefer four to coat my entire body. It feels like a hybrid between a shower oil and a shower gel. While it doesn’t bubble up tremendously, it does turn slightly milky and coats the skin nicely. It’s a very watery consistency and can disappear easily into a loofa. Applying it with hands is best.
I can’t deny being a sucker for the minimalist packaging as well. It just looks so pretty sitting in my shower and I love that it has a pump, making it super easy to use.
It leans on the high-end side price-wise at $35 (CAD) for 16 oz, but I believe a product that is made with premium ingredients (that is also cruelty-free, toxin-free, sulfate-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, soy-free, phthalate-free, fragrance-free, palm oil-free, and vegan) deserves to cost a little more.
Plus, perhaps the best part…MIFA and Co. are based in Vancouver! #GoCanadaGo!
