I’ve been having an absolute blast playing with the $16 e.l.f. Cosmetics 18 Hit Wonders Eyeshadow Palette that I purchased from Shoppers Drug Mart online. So much so, that I decided to create five different looks to showcase to you. Which one is your favourite?
Blue Alien Halo
For this look I used a “halo technique” and sandwiched Solar in between Electric.
GoldenEye
For this look I used Summer in the crease and Moss on my lid.
Pinky “Bridal”
For this look I used Supreme in the crease, Pave on the lid and Shade along my lashline.
Silver Meets Green
For this look I used Vibrant all over the lid and smudged Evergreen along my lower lashline.
It Was All Yellow
For this look I used Solar only.
I’ll let you in on a secret. My unsuspected favourite is…drumroll, please…
The all-yellow eye!
Which is surprising. Those of you who tuned into my first Instagram Live when I tested the e.l.f. Cosmetics 18 Hit Wonders Eyeshadow Palette for the first time, will know that I called it an ugly “chicken colour”. I’m not exactly sure what I meant at that moment, but the colour is definitely not as neon and vibrant as it appears online. It’s much more…like…a…baby chick. I HATED it. But I felt determined to take on the challenge and use it in a way that I liked. And while the all yellow eye with the bold burgundy lip is not my typical look – it’s so different, daring and eyecatching – I couldn’t help but fall in love.
Now Let’s REALLY Talk About The Palette…
My favourite part about the e.l.f. Cosmetics 18 Hit Wonders Eyeshadow Palette is the variety of colours. I have an array of neutral eyeshadows to pick and choose from every day, but sometimes that gets boring. Right now I’m in a phase where I want to play with ALLLL the colours. I want to look like a rainbow. But I realized I didn’t have a palette with the bright options I was looking for.
I’m so happy I took a chance on this $16 palette that I stumbled upon while browsing the beauty section of Shoppers Drug Mart online, and I highly recommend it to any of you that are feeling creative.
The shadows are quite impressive for the price! The mattes could be improved, in my opinion – a couple of them feel a tad chalky and can be difficult to blend. But the shimmers are Stunning (with a capital S)! They’re buttery smooth and pigmented, but work best when applied with a finger. Moss is a standout for me. To the eye, it looks like an earthy green colour. But once applied (and depending on the colours you use to accent it) it changes to the most stunning gold. I also love Candy and while I haven’t used it for a look yet, Heat is screaming my name!
It does kind of suck that the palette doesn’t have a mirror. But I suppose if I’m only paying $16 for an eyeshadow palette, I’d rather it have a good number of (quality) shadows. I can live without a mirror…

There are still so many different and new looks I want to create using the e.l.f. Cosmetics 18 Hit Wonders Eyeshadow Palette, which is a great sign that it has truly sparked the makeup enthusiast in me and made me excited to put on makeup every day…something that isn’t totally necessary at the moment…but it makes me feel good.
I have a feeling I will be playing with this palette for a while…
